Lube, Oil & Filters
Synthetic oil is better for the environment. They are low viscosity and hence create less friction or drag making the engine more efficient, thus using less fuel and creating less pollution. Samford Garage’s oil of choice is Valvoline. Normal (mineral) lubricating oils are of sufficient quality for all vehicles if you are dollar conscious.
Brake Service and Repairs
The brake system consists of a brake pedal operated by foot pressure; vacuum booster to give a soft pedal application; hydraulic master cylinder that uses brake fluid to expand hydraulic cylinders to operate disc pads on rotors on wheel cylinders on brake shoes on drums; a hand brake uses brake shoes to expand drums, usually a mechanical application. A brake safety check performed in every service.

Air conditioning (AC) is one of the most expensive accessories in the modern vehicle. Samford Garage is licensed to service automotive AC, and our AC technicians are licenced to Australian Standards.

Samford Garage is an RACQ Approved Repairer, sells RACQ batteries at RACQ prices, and they are warranted by RACQ. Mower batteries included in the range. We can procure any battery at competitive prices.

Is it worth the extra dollars to use synthetic motor oil?
Yes, it is. Synthetic engine oils are produced through a synthesis process that takes very small molecules and assembles them into larger designer molecules with premium lubricating properties.

What parts should be replaced at what intervals?
All filters, air filters, cabin filters, timing belts and chains. Engine oil should be replaced every 6 months or 10,000 kms, whichever comes first. The reason is because all engines have some degree of wear, and these particles usually sink to the bottom of the engine sump. Draining and replacing removes these particles. It is recommended to use engine flush to help clear the particles.
